Movie Vault was originally created as a homework assignment for the creator's (Tyler Cruz) Information Technology 12 class. He was to make a website about an interest he had, and thus the first version of Movie Vault was born, originally called Movie Planet. It was quickly decided to improve on the site and pursue it further than just an assignment. The first few MV reviewers were found online, and Movie Vault started its collection of reviews. The site began to grow as more content and features were added and more reviewers came on board. This snowball effect launched Movie Vault into what it is today, only the snowball never stops. Throughout the years, Movie Vault has been through 8 designs (as seen below), and each design marks a different era in Movie Vault's success. Every time Movie Vault reaches a new stage in quality, a new design is created to celebrate it.
Movie Vault currently has over 1800 high-quality reviews, a proud accomplishment for a site not pumping millions into itself (and without a corporate sponsor), and is slowly concentrating on other movie sections, such as upcoming movies and Classic Films Revisited. Movie Vault is also steadily accumulating an archive of articles on film-related subjects and exclusive interviews with film-makers, actors and directors.
Movie Vault will eventually surpass 5000 reviews and have a large community of movie fans all over the world who share our beloved interest of motion picture films and related industries.
